The NUS Graduate Students' Society (NUS-GSS) was honoured to attend the NUS120 Gala Dinner on 3 July 2025, a significant occasion commemorating 120 years since the founding of the National University of Singapore. Organised by the National University of Singapore Office of Alumni NUS and NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, the evening brought together Singapore’s national leaders, university leadership, alumni, and students to celebrate NUS’s remarkable legacy and its vision for the future. The NUS-GSS 39th Executive Committee proudly represented the graduate student community at this milestone celebration.

We are especially proud that the NUS-GSS 39th ExCo - President, Muhammet Furkan İLASLAN, had the privilege of standing on stage alongside university and national leaders to represent graduate students during the ceremonial segment of the event. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the watering of the Tembusu tree, a powerful symbol of NUS’s resilience and continual growth over the decades. It was a moment that reminded us of the enduring roots and ever-reaching aspirations that define the University and its community.

We are deeply grateful to have shared this evening with distinguished guests including Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan (Minister for Foreign Affairs), Dr. Koh Poh Koon (Senior Minister of State for Health and Manpower), and Prof. Tan Eng Chye (President of NUS), whose presence reflected the profound importance of this occasion. We thank NUS for including the voice of graduate students in this historic celebration and reaffirm our commitment to supporting and empowering our vibrant graduate community as we move forward, together.
