Description:
Education and Experience
· Minimum Diploma in Environmental/ Marine/Life Science or related discipline
· Bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology / Science, Oceanography, Ecology, Life Sciences, or related discipline is an advantage;
· Prior experience in ecological field sampling methods, scientific writing and statistical analysis of data is an advantage
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
· Entry level position to undertake field surveys, monitoring and sample collection for biological and physicochemical parameters for a wide range of coastal and marine environmental projects; periodic weekend work as well as occasional overseas travel in the Asia Pacific region may be required
· Assist with other applied research activities and with the entry, compilation and analysis of various survey and monitoring data
· Assist in the preparation of technical reports, e.g. Environmental Impact Assessments; support for other tasks and administrative duties will also be required

Requirements:
Knowledge and Skills
· Keen interest in tropical coastal and marine ecosystems, biodiversity, conservation and management issues; knowledge of / experience in these areas is preferred
· Physically capable and medically fit to work long hours in the field or at sea in a variety of conditions
· Advance Open Water SCUBA Diver or equivalent with >50 open water dives; Rescue Diver certification and experience with diving in limited visibility and strong currents is preferred
· Attention to detail with good verbal, planning, analytical and writing skills, presentation and communication competencies are preferred
· Ability to work well independently under pressure, or as part of a team, in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with multiple projects, stakeholders and frequent deadlines
· Working knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook, Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint,
· Basic knowledge of statistics is an advantage
· Good cooperative interpersonal skills working with a wide range of colleagues of diverse backgrounds
· Self-motivated, creative, energetic, willing to learn new skills, and a keen interest in marine conservation and research
